Re: UK Royal Space Force

Okay guys, first rank chart, based on first post. As today, is the Royal Navy in charge for UK military space activities? According to Wikipedia article about the RAF, the UK Space Command is a part of it. United Kingdom Space Command (UKSC), established 1 April 2021 under the command of Air Vice-M...

Earth Empire All nations have become one, under the benevolent rule of an Emperor. Earth has become peaceful at last, but Armed Forces still are required to maintain peace, should anyone turn against the Empire. Here's a coat of arms I made for it: Imperial Earth coat of arms.png New set of insigni...

UK Royal Space Force

Hello all, As everyone here knows, the US have established a Space Force, which uses ranks that are loosely based on USAF's. My bet is that the United Kingdom, the main political and military ally of the US, is the next country to implement a Space Force, and that it will have ranks which are simila...

Re: World government ranks and insignia

Hello, Apparently, the USSF have decided to use rank titles very similar to USAF's, which in turn are very similar to Army's. And it's not hard to imagine that other space forces created after it will end up doing the same. Therefore, I decided that the Space Fleet of previous posts on this topic wi...

And these are the rank insignia for officers. Again, I'm assuming the new USSF will inherit army rank structure, therefore I used the gold buttons used by army and added warrant officer ranks.

Re: World government ranks and insignia

Hey Helios88 - glad you liked it! smilies-23 Now that I mentioned police force, I'm thinking about firefighters. Should we have local firefighter corps on each town, like in the US, or should we have a big, global one? I've made a new set of insignia based on the others I'd already made, assuming th...

Re: World government ranks and insignia

After reading recent Helios88 and jrichardn2' recent replies, I came to the conclusion I must read more about gendarmeries, corps of provosts and the organization of police forces before coming up with rank structure and insignia for an Earth Police Force. smilies-05 For now, I just thought changing...

Re: World government ranks and insignia

Helios88, you've got a point, here. I've changed the ranks to military ones, so that the police force would be known as the sixth uniformed service (eighth, if you count the Naval and Space Marines as separate entities from their parent services).

Re: World government ranks and insignia

I don't think "Physician" would be an appropriate title for officer ranks, as the Medical Service envisioned first by Medic_in_Uniform and then by me will be responsible for all health-related aspects in the Armed Forces, and therefore not all officers will be physicians (we will have dent...

And these are the ranks for Marines. There are two Marine Corps in the planned world gov't: Naval Marines, which will work as "soldiers afloat" like the Marine Corps we have today, and the Space Marines, which will work the same way, but in space.

Re: World government ranks and insignia

Hello everyone,

I've made some new insignia for the ranks at the beginning of the topic. For this, I tried to break tradition of current armed forces (for general officers, I couldn't find anything that suits them better than stars...)

Hello,

I picked the uniforms I posted before and repainted them to use the colors proposed by Medic at the images on the opening of the thread. I only allowed myself to do that because the uniforms drawn by JJohnson1701 are non-canonical. smilies-01

Re: World government ranks and insignia

When I first created the original thread, someone (I don't remember who) said that Senior Enlisted Advisors (SEAs) were a very US thing, so I dropped those positions from my original chart. But it looks like, since then, an increasing number of forces worldwide have imported the idea from them (on W...

Here's another version of the chart of USSF enlisted ranks, this time on gray background so you can have an idea on how the insignia will look on gray uniforms (again, I'm assuming that dress uniform for USSF will be gray because of sci-fi, but maybe a person who is not a fan of sci-fi or doesn't li...

Here is a subdued version of enlisted rank insignia for the USSF. The lighter green is the background color for the sleeve patches (I believe the USSF's main color for field dress will be green, as with other US armed forces).

Re: US Space Force

New version of my insignia for enlisted members of the USSF, now with some "void" space between the 3rd and 4th chevron for E-5 through E-9. I think this solves the problem of distinguishing E-4 and E-5 that we have in USAF insignia, and makes the insignia look a bit more futuristic.
