World war two ranks

dear 60Bill, thanks for your nice work.But the work that you did shows only the present day ranks of the Intalian army.
But i was infering to the ranks of World War Two.
And they were in many places different from the present day Italian army insignia.

aiudante in Italian army of WW 2

does anyone know if the Italian army during the world war two period would regularly use Aiudante rank NCO's as platoon commanders of normal combat units ( tanks, infantry, etcetera ) , like the Free French army did ? Thanks in advance.

Tegmen comes from Segmen which mean something like militia.
Also it may come from Degmen which means a traditionaly dressed up man seated on a horse and wearing weapons , for a traditional feast.
So it seems to be more or less the same as Segmen. smilies-05

thanks for your answers again. But i think the problem is that the rank insignia worn by the generals , admirals and marshalls all over the world are just to conspicous anyway.I mean, even in a subdued form, they almost all have either stars, crossed swords and marshalls batons, crowns or equivalent...
