Acknowledgement of some sort....

This message is more for Pavel than other administrators, but I would like all of you to read it.
Just recently I have sent Pavel my designs of Republika Srpska police rank insignia accompanied with an extensive description of all ranks and their translation.
I had created those designs in 2003 as a reference guide for Republika Srpska police force. Being a passionate police and military insignia collector, I had created several charts for my own use, starting from 1992 and creation of Republika Srpska until today.
I had used existing designs, available on the Uniform Insignia web site, and using my hand drawn designs as reference, I had created RS police ranks for all three periods.
Considering that there were no RS police ranks charts on the web site, I have recently offered Pavel my designs, if he wanted to use them and maybe even post on the web site. As I was born and raised in Republika Srpska I felt it was on me to do it and share it with other insignia enthusiasts.
Since I use Apple computers and Mac OS X system I have sent Pavel those designs and asked him to inform me if he had received them and was able to open the text file. I have sent him an e-mail as well as a personal message but have not received a single line since. A week or so ago those ranks were posted on the web site, just as same as the new BIH army insignias that I have posted on the forum.
I am not claiming copyrights, as the designs are not original, the basis of all those ranks are the designs of old Serbian police ranks and other that I could have found on the web site.
All I am asking for is an acknowledgement. I have put time and effort into those designs. I could have kept them for myself and my fellow collectors yet I have decided to share them with the rest of the world.
I certainly hope this is not the case with other members of the forum.

Sincerely,

Lt. (Marjan)

Republika Srpska may not be the size of Indonesia and may not have the same population, yet your comment shows lack of knowledge and lack of respect for other people and other countries.
The same feelings you have for your homeland I have for mine. Yet it has never crossed my mind to say anything disrespectfull about any other country or their people. I have worked with many international organizations and have worked with people from all over the world, including Indonesia. I theasure that experience as it has taught me about other cultures and religions and above all to respect all of them as I respect my own.
If there was nothing else you wanted to say but to insult then you should have not left those messages in the first place. My post was directed to the Moderator and Administrators anyway.

Thank you.

I didn't know Republika Srpska was a country. I tought it was an integral part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Was I wrong?

Damir,
Please, don't start. This is not the place and it is not the time for it.

What I call my homecountry is my bussines and no one elses. If this web site has, as its integral part, insignia of Kosovo rebels and Chechen rebels, then why not have RS police and army insignia.
What does Republika Srpska represent is not the subject of this topic. Had I shared insignia designs of some other country, would we be having this conversation?
It's about the principle. I have shared my work with all of you and while I did not expect you to sing me praises, I expected just a line saying "I got it, thanks!" That is all I asked for.
You all lashed out on a guy who made mockery of the Sun on rank insignia of some S. American countries, yet I see no reaction here.
Please, ignore this topic alltogether if there is nothing decent you had to say.

Hey, don't be so sensitive!

I meant no provocation. Sorry... I was just asking... don't answer it if you don't want to.

We all appreciate your work and contribution to the web-site. Your work is excellent, and I think that you should receive an acknowledgement of some kind.

I do not think that my question was indecent, and I am a little bit surprised with your strong reaction. Maybe someone out there will resent your use of the word "rebel", but I don't think they'll react as strongly about it as you reacted to a few simple questions about the position and size of your country.

But, as you sad it - this is no place for that kind of a discussion, so I'll say no more.

Bye bye
