Code Geass rank insignia

There was this anime called Code Geass. I loved it, but their uniforms have no rank insignia! It's gonna be that trouble like in the PLA!

I think the Japanese forces would use the IJA system.

How about the Britannians and Chinese, anyway? Would we create one?

Dah! It is very rarely when Japanese animators do actual insignias, unless the insignias somewhat played a role in a story. The absence of insignias just underlines two things, the animators can use recycled footage, saves a lot of time and money ( did u ever wonder y in whole movies/series the characters never change clothes (wow, it should be stink out in real world without laundry smilies-06 ), and after all, for some reason (unknown to me, maybe magic smilies-29 ), the heroes miraculously, with out any rank insignias, know the rank and status of the person, even if our heroes never seen him/her before!

Zibster, Earth Alliance.

PS: Interesting note, even Orb played somewhat role in the Gundam SEED, only in part 2, Destiny with much bigger shoes to fill, they, finally, got real rank insignias, not the imitation (Japanese animators often pretend that there rank insignias, just like in Yugen Ordian, the North American Empire (the US) , but up close there no actual rank).

I was never going to show these insignias, my storyline somewhat different from real Code Geass, but here is how would Holly Britannia look like:

The ranks remind me of the Zeons, right?

I think we should create the HBE's insignia based on Canada's present-day military. It's in the collar tabs.

Yes, indeed, just the chest rank system like that, I find somewhat fascinatingly impractical, therefore, a domain of the some kind of Empire, rather than any political formation. Holly Britannia remind me Grand Duchy of Zeon in its aggression, only difference that chest symbols of Zeon was a German Eagle(of the Third Reich)(note that Zeon national symbol was unique shape, but here uniforms only), while I based mine on the Union Jack, since the US never came to fruition.

PS, FYI: There a new set of books on uniforms, equipment of both Feds and Zeecks:

I did a set of insignia a while back as a request.

I noticed that some of the officers had a small plate on their undertunic collar, so it got me thinking. The uniforms had no shoulderstraps (which would've been covered by peripheral paraphernalia), no sleevestripes and no other such obvious places. As it would be difficult (from an animation standpoint) to draw in anything on that aforementioned plate, it MUST have something on it. So I adapted the current british system to fit on that small plate.
