Updates.

Hi Pavel herrwiggly here, I notice that on the 23rd november with the new updates, the Netherlands page has only the Air Force ammended. The updates of 9th march on the Swedish page only updated the Air Force, it is though the updates were started and never completed and have been foorgotten. Will this also happen to the netherlands page, perhaps you can look into this mystery?. :? :? :? Cheers.

No Chris it's not weird - Pavel simply cannot read everything posted on the forum - he is only ONE man and he is running this site for FREE.
He in doing this in his FREETIME but he has also a PRIVATE LIVE and FAMILY and he has to WORK as every man. So don't expect that he will read every your comment or reply every your e-mail in 10 seconds. It's very easy to critisise Pavel - it's not so easy to help him! Don't send him info - create and send him ilustrations! All of you are using this site for FREE so at least you can also do something for it instead of showing how angry you are because there is no response for your e-mails !!!
Please also read this announcement as you probably didn't read it before http://forum.rankinsignia.info/viewtopic.php?p=3403&sid=2ac636fcbe1db654cd577921b825947b#3403

"nn" wrote almost exactly what I wanted to write here ......

Chris , you are a student and certainly have much more free time for your hobby that any of us, older men with work and families...

I personaly read the forum few times a day, sometimos post something. I have a lot of ideas what to put on the website but simply have no time. I am preparing some materials for Pavel in a "almost ready to post" form and I know how much time I need for this. Chris, You can say that you've posted plenty of police insignias. Yes, we all appreciate you research work but just please notice that you are using the same few pictures with sometimes text addition about the right colours for chevrons. You do not create separate pictures for this .....

And please also notice that Pavel's English is not very fluent (I know he sometimes asks me for translation - fortunately he knows Polish) so it is also possible that there are some missunderstadnigs....

So please be patient. If you want to help Pavel, you can ask for the "skeleton" page with all the paragraph and layout formats, fill it with individual rank pictures keeping the needed size and sticking to the general naming rules of the website elements (subdirectories location etc). Sending such page to Pavel will give a lot of help.

Im thinking of making my own website that way I can post and make my own rank insignia, so i will be easier for him to add it, but then I have to get it from Paint to website and then to AOL which is horrible for sending images.

I just wanted to apolizge for sounding impatient and agitated, but thats how New Yorkers are, its one of our bad traits - you should see us on the road in other states, again sorry guys.

apologises accepted

Hi Chris

Your apologises have been accepted ;-)

BTW I noticed that most of the US law enforcement use the same insignia. They are based generally on the army pattern and differs mostly in the colours of chevrons and stars. It could be nice if you can provide a chart (without illustrations) comparing the names of grade in different US organisations. This could be (for example) Excel sheet with rows as a rank levels, collumns as a specific forces and the contents of the cells could be just the number and colour of chevrons (stars etc). This would be much clearer then individual posts regarding every (almost identical) service.

Just make such table, make the pdf file of this and put the link to this pdf file on the forum (if you have any technical problems just send Excel sheet to me and I 'll do the rest)

Zdzislaw:
I only have one quick comment:
No criticism intended: If possible could we provide an (Frequently Asked Questions) FAQ or some basic instructions or equivalent

The final paragraphs of both of your posts in this topic have given me more information about how to make it easier to post additions than most other posts here.

Just tell us how to make it easy for (you).
A Corrections FAQ would be helpful as well.
I will even offer to write it (under direction)
I also realize the time constraints that we are all under.
