Christian Mission of the Salvation Army

Christian Mission of the Salvation Army was shortened to The Salvation Army and the title of William Booth had been General Superintendant was shortened to General. His daughter Evangeline Booth became General after his death. I was a Salvationist and wore the old style cap badge with the American bald eagle instead of the Celestial Crown now used. They also once had Corporal, two maroon chevrons point down on the right sleeve and Sergeant with three chevrons as well and Corps Sergeant Major which was an oval with letters CSM worn at the end of the shoulder strap (epaulette).
