Rank Insignia Website Financial Worries

Hi Pavel!
I saw your notice about the website's financial conerns on the website's front page, and naturally I'm quite concerned about where this may lead!
We CAN'T lose the rank insignia website, for to do so would be a crying shame!
Of course I'll help you Pavel, however we must do more!!
Pavel, to keep things running for the future, you MUST make this a paid subscription website! Members who want to maintain the high quality of this website should pay a yearly subscription fee to keep things operating!
Other websites do it, and they're doing just fine!!
Also, PLEASE make it possible to pay membership fees directly online through credit card or debit card! Not all of us are happy with PayPal, so this alternate means of paying DIRECTLY through credit card would be quite helpful!
If continuing to offer free subscriptions to our rank insignia website means the collapse and cessation of our website, then PLEASE institute paid subscriptions as soon as possible!!
Pavel, we've got to do something before it's too late!!!

Hi Pavel , Hi Chuck and all Members
I follow the opinion on from Chuck. We are nearly 500 registered members that would be enough money around
this Website alive to receive.Pavel created a work with the help of all members that in the InterNet is unique. It may not be that this work dies by financial need.I call therefore all members on its agreement for a financial member contribution. The members to pay would like should this here write.Pavel is to then tighten the sum of the members. Then it is to specify and to the tuning bring the amount per month or year.
I please you, worth members, goes through and writes your opinion in
addition! :!: :!: :!:
Many greetings, Mario Sitek from Germany

I fully support the idea of paid subscription, or what was some time ago on trials ("beta version" of the website - probably not many of you saw it) - the website allows everyone to get into but after few pages shows the message that to continue one has to register (and pay). Also as I remember printing of the pages was allowed only after registration.
Of course credit card payment will be the best.

it would be a great shame to loose this site. i however, would not be able to contribute financially, but that is of no concern if this wonderful site is able to keep going, and hopefully growing. i must say that when this change is implimented i will miss the discussion forums and the vast wealth of information held here.
i will continue to login until i am no longer allowed accese, but i wish the site and its members all the best, i have spent many a happy hour browsing and viewing and replying to posts, and i hope that those who stay on and those join in the future will continue to enjoy the wonderful illustrations and info as i have.
thanks and good luck for the future.

Hi Everyone!
Many people like Nila have been with us for quite awhile and have contributed much to the total knowledge of our website! It would be a shame to lose such good people.
As we institute a paid membership policy to keep our website going, is there anything we can do to help longtime contributors (who perhaps, temporarily, can't afford to become a paid member until a later date?)
I'm not suggesting that anyone would get a free ride at the expense of the paid members, I'm just wondering if there's something we can do for situations like that. I just thought that the issue should be brought up while our paid membership policies are still in the planning stages.

Personally I think we should avoid a membership fee until absolutely necessary. Money is really not an issue with me but I lack a credit card and I dont fully trust things like PayPal, etc and I know Dave (Sketor) is in the same situation as me.
Will I pay a membership fee? Only if it is a last resort.
Alternate Payment Methods

by Chuck Anderson
Hi Everyone!
As our website DESPERATELY needs to institute a paid membership fee to survive and continue operating, Chris inferred a very important point, namely the options available for members to pay these fees.
We should not only list the available options to pay, but we should expand that list to accomodate others who may not have a credit card or debit card or who (like myself) am wary of PayPal and other similar online companies.
We should include, for example:
Payment by Check
Payment by Money Order
Payment by Wire (e.g. Western Union, etc.)
Making it easy and convenient for people to pay their membership fee will do much to help in our website's transition into a self-sufficient, financially healthy member-supported website.
Membership fees are a necessity if our website is to survive, and making it easy and convenient for members to pay their membership fees will help to ensure that survival.

Hi Pavel!
It's very nice that we can now pay by credit card!
Do you have the mechanism in place yet so we can pay by credit card?
It would be very nice if we had a place right on the website itself (such as the Forum), where we could just fill-in our credit card information, and click-on the box that says something like "Purchase" or "Pay Now", and have the transaction completed automatically!
Many other websites do this and the money is transferred almost simultaneously! This way you'd be assured, almost immediately, that the money you need to run the website would be where you need it!

Hi All
As we are talking about finance I have to say few things (as I run my own business for almost 20 years) ....
First of all we (or Pavel) have to decide what kind of support it will be. There are at least 3 possibilities:
1. Donation to the website (the donation is voluntary and the amount of money is chosen by a donator). But what will be donated? Is there a subject or foundation called "uniforminsignia website"?
2. Subscription of the website. The annual (or monthly) fee to be paid to get access to the website and the forum. This is OK as the website has got a formal status as an electronic newspaper and is registered as such in ISSN system. Then this is a kind of price you paid for a newspaper and don't care about the way your money is spent.
3. Membership of WICU. The World Insignia Collector's Union is registered in Czech Republic and has got the tax number. Probably it has also a registered statut. In this case the statut should include (at least by Polish law - perheaps in Czech Republic also) the conditions of membership.
In the case 2 and 3 some peoples who gave a contribution to the website content could be freed from the obligatory fee. But please distinguish between the contribution of information (like posts in the forum) and the contribution of actual presented material (like doing the computer graphisc).
In any case the expected (or needed) amount of money should be presented to all interested people.
I can agree that Pavel puts a lot of time in maintaining a website - so he has right to got also his work paid - not only his costs (server space etc) refunded.
But .... in case 3 - there should be some kind of formal financial discipline. Like for example annual report of income and spending.
This is just a businesman's point of view - I don't want to abuse anyone
Regards to all
Zdzislaw
Yearly Subscriptions

Hi Everyone!
Whatever Pavel gets set-up for, as long as it helps him keep the website going, I'm all for it.
Personally, I'd like to pay a Yearly Membership with my Visa Card, getting the money to him in a matter of seconds. (At least that would be the one option that I would choose from amongst the many payment options presented.)
Now , I agree 100% entirely with Zdzislaw that Pavel should be financially compensated for his work in maintaining our website! God knows he's earned it!
I'm ready whenever you are Pavel! You won't have to carry the entire financial burden by yourself anymore!

Hi Members,
I acted. Now does not only talk but help.
And still another problem:
Members those not to pay can. Those over financial possibilities do not order.Over it we should advise.

Thus it does not go. :!: :!: :!: :(
Also Nila MadhaVa may not remain lasted a membership.
There am I the same opinion as Chuck.

Hi members
I have just now been trying too pay via visa credit instead of just talk about how to pay and wonder if it is going to work. This test payment of mine is worth $20.00.
So now i only wonder if this transaction has made it all the way?
probably i find out later!!!
