Hypothetical New Shoulder Strap Design for USN

Hi Everyone!

Presented here is my illustration of a hypothetical new shoulder strap design for US Navy officers, warrant officers, cadets & officer candidates and some US Navy civilians of equivalent rank to officers and warrant officers.

The main thing that makes this a shoulder strap/shoulder board for officers, warrant officers, etc. is the "USN & Eagle" device at the top.

My illustration is of the rank insignia of an Ensign, (Line Officer).

One main theme throughout all of my hypothetical illustrations of all branches of the US armed forces is that enlisted personnel of all ranks will wear their insignia of rank exclusively in the "traditional" positions on the mid-sleeve of one or both arms, depending on the branch of the military.
Officers, warrant officers, etc. will wear their insignia of rank in the "traditional" positions on the shoulder strap, shoulder board, collar, lower cuff of sleeve.
(I guess I'm a little old-fashioned!!)

that would be nice, ... but won't any personnel from people rep of china's army will consider that Ensign (line officer) as a Major? (with those one star and one yellow stripe). then Lieutenant (one star and two yellow stripes) as a BrigGen.

Chuck's presentation isn't so far away from nowadays insignia. And anyway, that would be worn on US uniforms. No problem therefore. And furthermore - sorry Dharma - China's insignia don't look like your description. smilies-05

Looks interesting. Has anyone seen that somewhere? Could it be a fictive chart?
