hello,
i am wondering :
how can someone see if for instance two Major Generals are standing somewhere, which one is the commander of the unit ( like a division )
and which one is his " second -in-command "?Which kind of insignia or badge or something will show that?

The only way you could tell would be by their Div flashes, if they both have the same flashes-then ask them!.
The only way I could see two Maj Gen’s been together would be at the pentagon or a high level staff meeting, say at Corps or Field Army HQ.
