Like in the European Union and the North American Union.

More soon.

What do you think of these insignias? Did they suck? And I apologize again if I used some material from the site. smilies-07

Not picking fault.
How about four point star [diamond/pip] for junior offrs,
then the five point star with africa relief for field ranks, leaving the fancy star with the africa star for general ranks.
that would probably transfer better into subdued ranks.
Also the generals wouldn't be left with a plain star while the field rank had the fancy star.

First interesting, second, since I deal in these, are not new ideas. In Gundam universes as well in Babylon 5, before Earth Alliance (Federation) represented, it has "smaller blocks" e.i. continental or like-minded unions. For instance, in Gundam existed so-called East-Eurasian Federation that based on Slavic roots, or another one, Robotech, Neo-Co-Prosperity League leading by Far Eastern Corporations, where resources matter not nationality. On the other hand, I had to disagree on both South American Consortium (Union of South American Nations) for ground forces, more Germanic like full dress shoulder boards, and akin ur shoulder board star, I'd do for cuffs instead of British rings; and as well as Far Eastern Consortium (East Asian Union), too much Japanese (Although, its pure Federation rip-off of the original Gundam, but who cares!), do not u know, General Tiu, they are hated by the rest of the Asia due to atrocities in WWII?! Thus there should be another version, altogether!

Firstly I agree that there’s a strong Japanese influence in the design, so strong I thought it was a little too obvious, but who are we to argue.
It's quite difficult to have a complete ranking system that hasn’t been wholly or partly been done in either reality or fiction by somebody.
Secondly I would not have thought that general_tiu and anyone coming from the Philippines would not need reminding of the 30’ and 40’s.
I’m sure he is well aware of national feelings..

Maybe I'll try another version. Too Japano-biased, anyway, smilies-03 but China in the early Nationalist period had rank insignias that were obvious rips of Japan. In any case, the Philippines is third behind China and Korea for having list of grievances against Japan, but then, I'm no leftist bogeyman. Perhaps I should make an alternate version of it. It is supposed to be worn in collars in combat dresses [subdued versions of course.]

In any case, many South American armies' rank insignias are influenced by Germany [e.g. Chile, Argentina [the shape reminds me of whatever it was but is unprintable smilies-07 ] Ecuador, and Venezuela] hence the rounded-head shoulder-strap. But I'll make a version with the shoulder straps the traditional "nail-point" instead of this Germano-biased one.

I may do ASEAN, Pacific Community, and the Arab League. And possibly SAARC, too.
