I've heard lately that Catalonia might secede from Spain in November, what would their rank insignia would look like?

more then likely at first it would simply reused spanish uniforms and rank insignias since apart from the crown worn by general, there is nothing overtly spanish about them.
Since we can speculate a bit, you could have something like this:

The uniform and insignias are an extension of those used by the mossos d'esquadra (catalan regional police) as it has a long existence as a defence force in the region (since the 18th century) and as the beret is based on a traditional one.
The insignia table has the same number of ranks as the spanish armed forces for ease of transition the only missing being Captain General which is currently used only by the King.

Very cool.
Would Catalonia be a republic? The proponents of Scottish independence, for example, make a big point of an independent Scotland's remaining a monarchy.

Catalan independentism is strongly opposing against Monarchy, also because the Bourbon dynasty unified the various realms, which previously enjoyed a personal union. Therefore they are staunchly republicans.
Maybe a towered crown could be added to the rank insignia in order to remark the republican nature of the Catalan State.
